Second Set of New Quadrilles, Performed at Almacks, Argyll Rooms, &c. By Messrs Michau, Musard & Collinet, Composed by Mr Michau (Chief of the Orchestra at the Balls of the Court of France). Dedicated to The Ladies, Subscribers to Almacks.
This publication was probably the immediate sequel to the First Set of New Quadrilles ( https://archive.org/details/Musards1stSetOfNewQuadrilles ) published for Philippe Musard in 1818. The publication date of this second set is likely to have been late 1818. The remainder of the series was principally credited to Musard, this second number is unusual in crediting Michau as the primary contributor.
This particular set of Quadrilles are unusual as they contain metronomic settings to indicate the tempo at which the music should be played. For more information on the early metronome and Regency era dancing, see here: https://www.regencydances.org/paper017.php#metronome .
